parched soil

Poetry Rehab 101: Rain

badge-rectangle

your words

raindrops

on the parched

soil

of my heart

your words

rain drops

on the seedlings

of my spirit

your words

rain drops

on the blossoms

of my soul

When responding to the prompt: Rain (on Poetry Rehab 101’s blog), a sense of déjà vu sent me to an inactive blog used during a NaPoWriMo (April 2014). The poem below is the rain I was reimagining/recalling.

 Rain

rain drops

from leaden

sky

rain drips

from barren

branches

rain splats

from broken

concrete

rain runs

from hardened

earth

rain-clouds

only

for my

parched soul
