plexus of pain

plexus of pain

inside my skull

crackles the surface

with fissures

mutilating brow bone

submersed in migraine

filaments weave kelp forests

of flashing synapse

throb migrates from

temple to temporal

melanin of red and black

streaks across inner eyelids

sip water, taste nickel-plated blood

wait for euphoric phase

when ungainly shroud lifts

with nonchalant shuffle

as if never there

you have created a darkly magickal world woven with your words – pain in description fascinating in the sense of “how do we actually describe and write about the intensity” – not only searching for the vocabulary for ourselves – but for others … and you have captured it so well – with skillful use of a difficult wordle!

And I’m glad that you are feeling better now. :)
