rituals (hump day poetry)

ritual

gentle arousal

from erotic dreams

and lust for coffee

measure beans

into grinder and

then turn

cog within cog

within wheel

grinder releases

exotics; smells

Sumatra, Indonesia, Kenya

thumping, slurring

cracking

boil of kettle

filter, cone

favourite mug

dripping  hot water

moistening grounds

caressing the aromas

re-awakening desires

the pleasuring

hearth of

the familiar

ritual

hump day

A wonderfully imaginative wordsmith, Lori presents an interesting a la carte poetry challenge on Wednesdays: Hump Day Poetry Blog Share.
