All the Things That are Left Behind

This week’s Daily Post, Discover Challenge is “The Things We Leave Behind:”

The things we leave behind disappear from our lives — but not the world. This week, make one of them the centerpiece of your post.

Duck Handle Umbrella Cane

No longer with me, by my most recent count are: 6 umbrellas, including the wooden duck head handle, and the beautiful green leaf bower. Ten hats – two very special irreplaceable ones. Twenty pairs of gloves, yes, those of lovely velvet black and grey lace patterned. Twelve scarves such as the black and vibrant folk coloured Russian shawl. Four sweaters. Two pairs of shoes. Five rings including the wedding one, 4 chains, 15 single, and 5 pairs of earrings. Two pairs of glasses, several intimate articles, and a hundred single socks. Oh, the things [I] leave behind. All hopefully finding new existences with their finders. Finders keepers, losers weepers.
